the requirement of the environmental protection printing ink is increasing in printing industry, which has aroused the close interest of printing ink manufacturer. Along with the global environment going from bad to worse, the environmental protection laws and regulations are also even more strict, and the soybean oil offset printing ink ,an environmental protection ink, flourished into the printing material market. With the advantages of the quick solidifies, the high gloss and the high quality ,It is gradually becoming the first choice of printing ink in the offset printing.With a good prospect, the own characteristic of soybean oil brings the certain difficulty to the development of the printing ink. The main difficulty is that the dryness speed is slow. With a low iodine value of 120-140mgI/g and few duplet bond, the reaction with the oxygen in air is relatively slow, and it decreases the dryness speed of the soybean printing ink, which results in many printing questions: such as sticks dirty and inferior attaching strength, and greatly decreases the printing efficiency.Simultaneously , the partial mineral oil in the traditional printing ink formula has been substituted by the soybean oil, which completely change the dryness way of ink. The traditional dry ways of the seepage, the volatility, and the oxidization were not suitable to the soybean printing ink, so a new dry system of printing ink is required to obtain a printing effect as same as the traditional ink, even the better effect.The paper is about how to choose the varnish and make the formula , and how to get a suitable dry system as well as printing ink formula. Firstly, according to the definition of the soybean printing ink, the difference between the soybean printing ink and the traditional printing ink and the dry principle of ink, we made the plan of researching soybean printing ink . Secondly, we designed the varnish system used for variety of offset printing inks . Thirdly, we selected the appropriate raw material such as the the resin, the soybean oil, the conditioner, the drying agent, the pigment and so on . we have gotten a process of making vanish and ink by taking a printing experiment. The content of the soybean oil in the soybean offset printing meets the American soybeanpromotion association for ink, and the environmental protection label meet the relevantstandards, so the soybean offset printing ink can substitute for the traditional offset printing ink.
