The Study On Morphology And Performance Of PA6 Blends Modified By PP, Elastomer And Inorganic Nano-Particles

Abstract/Summary:
By the method of melt-blending,PA6/compatibilizer precursors/PP composites,PA6/inorganic nano-particles binary composites, PA6/POE-g-MAH binary composites and PA6/POE-g-MAH/nano-SiO2 ternary composites were prepared.The morphology and performance of composites were investigated.The study of PA6/compatibilizer precursors/PP composites showed that,PP-g-MAH fitted PA6/PP(8303)alloy for a compatibilizer precursor, the over-all mechanical properties of composites were better than others; POE-g-MAH fitted PA6/PP(9020)alloy for a compatibilizer precursor, the impact strength of composites were increased greatly but the rigidity of that were lost largely.All in all,the over-all mechanical properties of PA6/PP alloy were not excellent,which the compatibilizer precursors are awaiting for more study.In addition,we selected nano-SiO2,SiO2 encapsulated nano-CaCO3 and nano-CaCO3 three inorganic particles to modify PA6 respectively, Which study indicated the over-all mechanical properties of PA6/SiO2 encapsulated nano-CaCO3 composites were the best.When the content of SiO2 encapsulated nano-CaCO3 was 0.5 phr,the notched impact strength and elongation at break were increased by 13%and 169%respectively, and the tensile strength and flexural modulus were also increased a few.The study of PA6/POE-g-MAH binary composites found that,the blends had good consistency.When the content of POE-g-MAH was between 10 phr and 15 phr,the notched impact strength of composites were increased greatly,producing bilitle-ductile transformation,which was about 8.6 times as high as that of PA6 when the content of POE-g-MAH was 15 phr,and the rigidity of conposites were decreased. POE-g-MAH can also reduce the water absorption of PA6 efficiently.Moreover,PA6/POE-g-MAH/nano-SiO2 temary composites were prepared by the means of M-POE/SiO2 masterbatch,which research found that nano-SiO2 and POEog-MAH had a synergetic toughening effect on PA6.The impact strength reached the maximum,which was about ten times as high as that of PA6 When the mass ratio of PA6/POE-g-MAH/nano-SiO2 composites was 85/15/1.The impact strength of the composites at low temperature were also greatly improved, the maximum was about 3.3 times as high as that of PA6,having important applied purpose. The investigation of micromorphology revealed that,nano-SiO2 had a little agglomeration when its content was less than or equal to 1 phr,and when its content was more than 1 phr,it had obvious agglomeration; nano-SiO2 had the effect of dispersing and refining on POE-g-MAH. Experimental result showed the ternary system's crystalline properties were quite complex.After PA6/POE-g-MAH binary composites produced bilitle-ductile transformation,the crystal style of PA6 on the melting crystalline behavior and the crystallinity of PA6 on the crystalline behavior all made some change.Adding nano-SiO2 had not the effect of heterogeneous nucleation on PA6,but the crystalline speed slowed down a little.The study of rheological properties showed nano-SiO2 caused system's viscosity to fall down,proving the effect of dispersing and refining on POE-g-MAH.The study also indicated microcontent nano-SiO2 had a little influence on the water absorption of PA6/POE-g-MAH composites.
