Performance Modification Of Emulsified Explosives And Technical Research

Emulsified explosives is a new type of water-containing industrial explosives sensitized from water-in-oil emulsion. It is widely used because of the advantages of the explosives such as low cost, simple technical operation, little influence on the environment, good water-proof performance, excellent explosive performance, proper sensitivity appropriate for all kinds of explosion. However, in the use of the explosives, the problems of low acting capacity, poor stability, short duration of storage, soft state of the explosives and stickiness influence the fast development. Thus the improvement of the formula, production technology, explosive performance and the stability for long-term storage is the key to develop the emulsified explosives quickly.To solve the problems existing in the production of emulsified explosives, experiments are made to research the factors influencing the performance and the way to improve the explosive performance, stability and physical performance in terms of emulsified explosive components, the technical conditions of latex emulsification and sensitization according to the reaction mechanism of detonation of explosives, the theory of emulsion formation and stability. The formula of emulsified explosives composed of compound emulsifiers containing SP-80 and succinimide, PVA and other components has been added accorded to the explosive designing theory and the experience in the production of emulsified explosives. In the condition of laboratory, the formula of emulsified explosives and the emulsion technology has been optimized by orthogonal design and performance testing. Thus the sample performance of emulsified explosive designed and produced has been greatly improved and the explosion performance and stability exceeds what is stated in Emulsified Explosive Standard of the national standard GB 18095-2000.There is also another finding in the experiment that the influence of structure, production technology and equipments is very obvious in the combined effects of several factors restricting the performance of emulsified explosives. The performance of emulsified explosives will be better if the research is carried out further.
