Since the 1960s the type of laser processing has been constantly developed and improved, and now over ten types of the laser processing of applications had been developed. The laser processing technology compared with traditional processing technology has many incomparable superiority so laser processing technology has been more widely used.Its unique advantages is: local heating and element not produce heat injury; non-contact - heating; excellent stability of repeat operational; processing flexibility better; multi-Position easily to be achieved, such as the installation of automated. It has been successfully applicated in the microelectronics industry area.In foreign countries, laser welding applications are very common, involving almost every industrial field. In the country, laser welding technology from the laboratory are gradually applied to industrial production, many higher level of laser welding technology research topics have been completed,and the application of laser welding forward an important step. Laser welding is a special welding technology, is gradually being recognized and used.Because of the superiority of laser welding, this subject is purpose to import laser processing to the FPC welding process of LCM, and study on the laser process stability, its effectness on the electrical conduction of flexible printed borad and the appropriate design parameters of flexible printed board. Useing of new laser welding processs to replace the original contact heating welding, and its purpose is to improve the efficiency and quality of FPC welding.In the process of developing this issue, in view of the following were studied:1. Laser welding developing of domestic and international research & application.The principle of laser and the future of laser processing.2. Working principle description of FPC laser welding processing.3. It's Use of statistics to do distribution and variability analysis about capability of laser welding, and established statistical measurement methods for the processing capability of laser welding equipment. 4. Constructed the 3-3 standard model of conduction characteristics analysis, and builded method of using variance analysis tools to do difference group analysis for conduction characteristics.5. Constructed the standard model of the 3-3 experimental method, and processesd best value prediction analysis of welding rally.6. Builded 2 - 4 standard model of the experimental method, using Minitab software by the interaction model and response surface model to do data analysis of the linear regression, and finally used response surface model identify the regression equation of FPC optimal design parametersThrough the analysis of experimental design to identify key impact on the quality of welding design factor and the best parameters of FPC Sn thinckness and through hole diameter: FPC Sn thickness is 0.35 mm, through hole diameter is 1 mm. Under these conditions, laser welding Rally value of FPC is more than 3N. As applying of laser welding method to do FPC weld, these parameters can be best process setting.
