| With the development of major infrastructure and defense facility, Large scale flange is widely used in important areas including aviation and spaceflight. The large scale flange with high precision and low stiffness is generally machined in the locale of installation. A new method of machining large scale flange by small-size reconfigurable manufacturing system in spot is put forward. The information-localizing technology is important for this new method. A machining plan of large scaled flange is put forward and some key technologies have been studied which include:(1) According to the requirement of the large scaled flange machining, a suitable measuring equipment and machine tool are chosen. A feasible project for machining the large scaled flange is put forward.(2) For realizing the large scaled flange machining, the flange is divided up, and the flange is machined part by part.(3) The pose of flange and machine tool is measured by laser tracker. Then the position relationship between the flange and the machine tool is confirmed.(4) The NC programs for machining the flange part by part are modified according to the relationship between the flange and machine tool.(5) The information-localizing algorithm is verified by the simulation and experiment.The method of machining large scale flange by small size machine tool get rid of the restriction of workpiece. It is of great signification and value for the development of enormous size industrial equipment. |
