Recently High speed machining(HSM)is growing up rapidly with the advanced manufacturing technology, which has been developed and explored for 70 years. Nowadays, HSM has been one of the main of modern manufacturing technology. Applying HSM technology has become one of valuable approaches which will to improve working efficiency and work-piece quality. With consideration of information tendency in manufacturing process and development of Virtual Manufacturing, the key technology in milling force modeling and simulation of ball end milling process are studied in this dissertation based on the theory of metal cutting, cutting experiments and computer simulation.The main work is as follows:1. The development of HSM and VM, the features of HSM and VM are summarized.2. The experimentally based on milling force coefficients are introduced into the analytical modal and the elemental force components of HSM are established. The pressure and friction acting on the rake face and the flank face are considered to constitute the milling force.In view of the feature of ball end milling process, it is presented the forward angle of cutting in and the lag angle of cutting off. And it also presented the model of cutting area and the integral arithmetic.According to blade line geometry models of ball end milling, the partial milling forces models with slice to pare the zone model, the total ball end milling force model in high-speed milling is build. This model processes the advantages of less experiments, higher accuracy, higher availability and easier building of milling database.3. Coefficients identification arithmetic is put forward in total milling force model and the coefficients of ball end milling model is identified by experiment .Milling forces in two groups milling parameter are simulated using built model and correcting coefficients, which proves the validity of milling force model.4. Orthogonal experiment of High speed milling forces with ball end milling tool is carried on, which proves the correctness of ball end force model built in this article and identifies the influence of milling parameters to the milling force.All the research work is important for the development of HSM and directing production.
