With the developments in manufacture technology, the machine tool also tends to high-speed, efficient, precise and automation. The requirement of performance is also higher and higher. The processing property of machine tool depends on its dynamic characteristic with has a great influence on machining accuracy, cutting efficiency, cutting stability and cutting reliability. Now dynamic performance is has become the very important evaluation index of the performance of machine tool.Grinding machine as a high-precision machine tool, do require a strict dynamic performance. This paper is about the research of improve the dynamic performance of The MK7132 grinding machine produced by a factory in Hang Zhou by experimental Modal analysis. The main works are follows:Parameter identification, relative signal analysis and experiment method are discussed theoretically; test schemes including monitoring sensor, oscillation and data sampling analysis system, together with the equipment adjustment and parameter setting, are detailed in the paper; afterwards, dynamic test to this grinder are processed by pulse excitation using the mean of single site excitation and multiple-spot pick up of vibration; the modal parameter was identified by the frequency-domain modal parameter extraction; finally, find out the weak link of the grinder's structure and provided the theoretical basis for its modification.
