| In this paper, we synthesized a pyrimidinyloxy(thio)benzoates herbicides: pyrithiobac-sodium. One intermediate (2-chloro-6-mercaptobenzoic acid) was prepared from 2,6-dichlorobenzonitrile. Another intermediate 2-methylsulfonyl- 4,6-(dimethoxy) pyrimidine was prepared from 2-methylthio-4,6-dihydroxypyrimidine. Pyrithiobac-sodium was obtained by the condensation of the two intermediates. In addition the reaction conditions for every step were explored, a cheep and convenient method for industrial production was obtained. |
