As a highly efficient and sophisticated tool, progressive die has been applied widely in manufacturing field. The structure of progressive die is very complex. With the demands of high-reliability and high-precision, its manufacture cycle is much longer than other dies. Therefore, how to improve the efficiency of the design and the manufacture is a pressing issue. In this article, based on progressive die design, the key technologies of collaborative design on progressive die are discussed.The collaborative design process, organizing methods and network support environment are introduced. According to the features of design, design pattern and design type are discussed. By adopting the idea of collaborative design, the framework architecture is constructed.According to the difference of data types, XML and UDO as data storage methods are used separately. The establishment of XML for data, such as edit, deletion, etc is achieved. With the system requirements, it needs not only local data operation, but also network communications. The article examined system network transmission methods used C/S framework for the realization of the data transmission between members of the design team.One of the key technologies in collaborative design is synchronization. This article discusses the synchronization in collaborative design, describes its mathematical model, and achieves information resources synchronization.Based on NX platform, an overall architecture of the collaborative design system on progressive die has been designed and developed. In this article examples are given,and conclusions are drawn and the further works are pointed out in the end.
