Along with the persistent development of economy and the urbanization acceleration, urban poplation goes up day after day, urban size enlarges without intermission and the output of municipal solid waste(MSW) increase with years. Landfill is one of the main method used for MSW treatment. The landfill gas generated during the deposition of solid waste would pollute the environment and pose danger to mankind if not properly managed and being discharged without restriction. On the other side, if some special collection and utilization be carried out, pollution of landfill gas will decrease and the waste may change from wastes into valuables.Although a lot of investigation about LFG had been carried out in foreign countries and lots of useful data, methods and experience have been accumulated, much of models can't be directly used because of great difference in landfill condition and waste ingredient between domestic and alien MSW, of the difference also exists in waste decomposion speed, gas quantity and gas rate. Consequently, according to the ingredient character of MSW, it is of signification mean for contamination control of landfill gas and reutilization engineering in our country to study the process of decomposition, LFG generation quantity , LFG generation rate and accumulate basic data. In this paper, landfill gas production and influence factors were investigated by jointed methods of theory analysis, simulation experiments and mathematic model. The main study contents include three below:⑴Chooseing the MSW of Beijing as investigation subject,the influence of three recirculation factors,including quantity ,period and rate on waste decomposion, gas production are investigated through the simulation experiments. The investigation results proved: adopting leachate with proper quantity, with certain operation frequcence suitable for methanogens ,and rate as small as possible can obviously accelerate the decomposion of waste and imrprove the gas generation performance.⑵Also chooseing the MSW of Beijing as investigation subject,the influence of leachate quality on waste decomposion, gas production are investigated through the simulation experiments.The investigation results proved: adopting leachate come from landfill to recirculate, can obviously bring down the restriction action during the stablization process of waste, increase the total amount of gas quantity and elevate the methane proportation . ⑶Starting from recirculation, making use of carbon balance during the recirculation operation to modify and correct the old one-order two step reaction model(FTLRM) and the new mdel(MFTLRM) be established. Making use of the typical data to carry out the fiting work between the old and new model.
