Practice Of Environmental Management System At 3M China

International Organization for Standardization (ISO) released a new ISO 14001 standard in 2004, and recommended all certified organizations refresh their certification according ISO 14001:2004 before May 15,2006.In this book, the ISO 14001 series standards are briefly introduced. Then the deference from ISO 14001:2004 and ISO 14001:1996 are identified. Based on this ISO standard analysis and the analysis to 3M China exist environmental management system, I leaded my environmental team researched the methods of environmental aspects identification and environmental impact evaluation to optimize our exist procedures. And we researched Chinese environmental regulations and standards, so that we can well identified the regulations that we need and help us to develop our own compliance evaluation procedures.In this book, I also introduced how 3M China manages the significant environmental aspects in easy ways, especially in improvement of waste water treatment, control of boundary noises, treatment of air emission, management of waste and management of energy area.3M are recognized on environmental protection for its internal environmental management and external environmental donation. I also introduced some 3M environmental management tools in this book, such as 3M's 3P program, 3M's five-year environmental targets, 3M's global environmental management self-assessment (GEMSA).
