Different systems and compounds of glass were got by fusion method under high temperature in this study. These glass all were doped with Eu3+ ions. Spectral properties of these glass were got by measuring their absorption or transmitted, excitation and fluorescence spectrum. Spectral properties of Eu3+ doped borate glass were known by computing based on the theory of J-O and the data tested about Eu3+ doped borate glass.The results show spectral properties of Eu3+ ions are the excellentest in borate glass, then in silicon glass and phosphate glass. Based on the above results, Eu3+ doped borate glass was choosen and its main compositions were SiO2,Al2O3 and B2O3, then approving its physical,chemical,mechanical and spectral properties by being doped with Li2O,Na2O,K2O,MgO,CaO,SrO,Y2O3,Dy2O3,Tb2O3 and so on.The results indicate that fluorescence spectral components of Eu3+ doped borate glass mainly are 5D0→7F(1590nm),5D0→7F(2617nm)and 5D0→7F(4699nm),the strongest peak at 5D0→7F2. The excitation spectra at 618nm mainly contain Charge Transfer State(CTS),240300nm,absorption transition from 7F0 to 5DJ(J=1,2,3,4,5,6) and higher energy levels, and the key peak at 390nm(from7F0 to 5L6). The result shows wavelength in red band (5D0→7F2) is different in different host because of alkali metal ions and alkali earth metal ions doped. The intensity gradually increases by SrO→CaO→MgO or K2O→Li2O→Na2O. Rare-earth ions co-doped also affects on the spectrum properties of Eu3+ doped borate glasses. The result shows its spectrum properties can be improved by separately introducing Dy3+ or Y3+ ions to Eu3+ doped glass. On the contrary, it makes the properties bad to dope several kinds of Rare-earth ions together.
