Xylose mother liquid, as a remainder liquid of xylose produced by chemosynthesis method, contains xylose, arabinose, glucose, galactose and so on. Based on utilizing the value of various monosaccharide existed in this xylose mother liquid, this paper not only presented a new kind of wet-keeping reagent--glycol mixed glucoside which was currently used in cosmetic, but also optimized its synthesis process, thus found a brandnew approach for studying the comprehensive utilization of xylose mother liquid.First, to find out the rudimental reaction conditions, alkyl polyxylosidase was synthesized by letting the xylose which takes up the most content in the xylose mother liquid and the aliphatic fatty alcohol to react together. Then xylose and n-octanol were chose as materials, and p-toluenesulfonic acid as the activator, thus alkyl polyxylosidase was synthesized by one-step method. After that, such effect factors as temperature, catalyst amount, molar ratio of fatty alcohol to xlyose were further optimized, thus the optimal reaction conditions were concluded that catalyst amount should be 2% of the total amount of xylose, molar ratio of fatty alcohol to xlyose should be 4.5:1, temperature should be 120℃, vacuums should be 3~6kPa, and the reaction should last 2~4 hours. The surface properties of product were as following: surface tension was 27.9 mN/m, foaming height was 195mm, all of which were superior than the surface performance of alkyl polyglucoside. As the xylose mother liquid is of high-glutinosity, it is hard to react with aliphatic fatty alcohol. After comparing xylose mother liquid's reaction with n-octanol, n-Butanol, methanol and glycol separately, glycol was selected to react with xylose mother liquid as the react materials, and phosphoric acid as catalyst used in the glycol mixed glucoside's synthesis. Some effect factors were optimized such as the catalyst amount, molar ratio of fatty alcohol to xlyose, reaction temperature and lasting-time by single-factor experiment and orthogonal experiment, thus the optimal reaction conditions were as following: catalyst amount should be 4% of xylose total amount, molar ratio of fatty alcohol to xlyose is 4:1, temperature is 115℃, vacuums are 3~6kPa, and reaction time lasts 2~4hours. Then, this mixture is dealcholized, decolored and blanched. During the post processing, acetone exaction method was used to remove the superfluous ethylene glycol, and hydrogen peroxide was used as blencher, thus the optimal blanching conditions were concluded that temperature is 90℃, dosage of hydrogen peroxide is 0.15 ml/g, blanching time lasts 30min, thus at last, this paper got a slight yellow colored product--glycol mixed glucoside, its yield is calculated as 118.95% based on the sugar contained in xylose mother liquid. Then, this synthesized product was analysed and examed by using infrared spectrum and high-performance liquid chromatography, the analysed results shows that the glycol mixed glucoside was finally generated! Then the moisturizing property of this glycol mixed glucoside was further tested according to the moisturizing property testing method used in moisturizing agents of cosmetic, the tested results shows it is superior than glycerin, thus this paper come to the conclusion: this product mositurizing property utterly meets the moisturizing requirements of cosmetic agents.
