Laser surface treatment has been performed on high chromiumcaststeel. The microstructure and distribution of component of lasersurface remelting and laser cladding were analyzed and the effects oflaser surface ruggedisation on high temperature erosion property wereinvestigated. These laser surface treatments have improved the hightemperature properties of surface layer of the materials. Then the theoriesof erosion were discovered. The results show that unchangingcomponent, refined crystal grain,as well as homogeneousmicrostructures can be obtained through laser surface remelting;Lasercladding mold well and is metallurgical bond with basal body; Thecladding composes with NiAl intermetallic compound and littleγ-(FeNi)and Ni3Al compound; There are a lot of twin crystal and piling up ofdislocations in the cladding. The results of erosion-resisting test show thathigh temperature erosion-resisting of laser surface remelting and lasercladding are better than that of basal body, and erosion-resisting of lasercladding is obviously better than that of laser surface remelting underhigh temperature condition; Erosion behavior of laser cladding givepriority to fragility and that of laser surface remlting occurred plasticity;Theory of high temperature erosion of laser cladding is affected byoxidation; The erosion process of the cladding are make up of formingoxidation, oxidation-cladding plastic deformation and removing oxidation, oxidation cicatrizing and accelerated oxidation. Erosion behavior of the cladding is fragility under low temperature condition, due to surface ofthe cladding can not obtain intact oxidation.
