Asphalt has the disadvantage of easy burning, so most tunnel pavement are cements concrete. How to improve flame retardancy of asphalt and to apply it to the tunnel pavement, which were emphasized and studied at home and abroad road material field.In this paper, a series of flame retarded modified asphalt were prepared by Zhonghai bitumen 90#. A curing study was undertaken to increase the capability of base asphalt by adding crumb rubber and SBS, and testing the softening point, ductility, penetration, viscosity of crumb rubber modified asphalt and SBS modified asphalt, then determinate the main factor of the capability, preparing modified asphalt meeting national standards by optimizing project. Introducing the retardant technology of polymeric materials to the study of flame retardancy asphalt, adding all kinds of flame retardants , then analyze the affection of simplex, binary and multiple flame retardants to the flame retardancy and road application of asphalt and prepare mutiplex flame retardants with good performance. Adding the mutiplex flame retardants into the modified asphalt made previous to increase the capability in high temperature, and analyze the effect that flame retardants on the modified asphalt's capabilities such as the softening point, ductility, penetration, viscosity. Results show that: the flame retarded effect of unitary flame retardant on modified asphalts were unconspicuous, while the flame retardancy of modified asphalts were improved significantly by multiplex flame retardant for synergism effect of flame retardant, the optimum flame retardant mix ratio of Decabromodiphenylethane, zinc borate and magnesium hydroxide is 5:4:1. The physical performances of flame retarded modified asphalts indicated that: after modified asphalts were deal with flame retardants, softening point and viscosity increased, ductility and penetration reduced. Finally, discuss the flame-retardant mechanism of asphalt. |
