Today Windows has been the major OS, it possesses some Characteristics of open architecture, easy operating and integrated exploiting environment, so it is essential to exploit the CNC system on basis of WINDOWS.This thesis researches a sort of open CNC system running on Windows platform based on PCI-1240U Motion controller and supported by industrial PC , including the hardware and the software. The hardware construction utilizes the industry PC and acts as the corpus,the intelligent sport control card puts in its PCI slot and accomplishes data communication and control through the total line in PC. Stepping motor drive mold piece, spindle inverter mold piece and I/ O mold piece constitute the total hardware construction. What software develops is an applied software based on the operating system of Windows. The software adopts Visual C++ and acts as development tool. The main function of the software is to accomplish computer control during NC control process. The software has friendly man-machine interfaces. Because the system runs on the Windows 2000 terrace, the interface imitates an operation plate of SINUMERIK 802 S NC system. The system has the Goodman-machine interface and the simple operation function.
