Ying27 block is a complicated block viscous oil reservoir with thin iterlay, possessing typical features of shallow-layer viscous-oil reservoir of Dongxin oil field: (1) cover depth is big. (2) thin formation, small block and small reserve volume. (3) viscous crude. (4) formation sand production. (5) shale content is much,high susceptibility. With the study on pilot test of steam stimulation of Ying27 thin interlay reservoir, thermal recovery on the whole shallow thick oil reservoir of Dongxin oil field can be guided. So steam stimulation technology on these complicated block viscous oil reservoirs with thin iterlay should be studied deeply and thoroughly.Based on the geologic feature and fluid property of Ying27 block, the paper demonstrated suitability of thermal recovery on the reservoir of this kind, designed the steam stimulation parameters with the manner of numerical simulation, predicted the production of stimulation wells, designing the steam stimulation treatment technology, developed a kind of Gemini surfactant which had a better viscosity break effect on the crude oil of the reservoir concerned. The field application of this research have made a good effect on exploitation, which provided technology supporting to the thermal recovery on thick oil of Dongxin shallow layer reservoir.
