Abstract/Summary:
The block copolymer of ethylene oxide with propylene oxide (EO20PO70EO20,P123) was used as template agent, Titanium(IV) isopropoxide (TTIP) as the inorganic precursor and no any diffsor was used in the study. The transparent gel of TiO2 was prepared by sol-gel method at 60?C and mesoporous TiO2 was obtained through calcination.The structure, morphology, crystalline size, specific surface area, pore size and photocatalytic activity of resulting samples were characterized by using X-ray diffraction, high-resolution transmition electron microscopy (HRTEM), N2 obsorption-desorption and UV-Vis spectrometer (UV-Vis) techniques. To optimize the experiment scheme the influences of solvents, temperature, aging time and calcinations temperature on the structure were investigated. Results indicate: at 60℃the block copolymer of ethylene oxide with propylene oxide (EO20PO70EO20, P123) as template agent, ethanol as solvent , Titanium(IV) isopropoxide (TTIP) as the inorganic precursor and no any diffsor through template method, stable gel was made, ageing it 5 days, and then the dry gel was calcined at 400℃, obtained sample arrays mesoporous ordered partly, owns 334 m2/g Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area and the size of pore is about 7.8nm, the TiO2 mesoporou is very stable because it owns not only glass phase but also crystalline nanocomposition.TiO2 is an excellent photocatalytic material. The paper analyzes the outcomes'activity by photo-decomposing the methyl orange solution. The results were characterized by using UV-Vis spectrometer (UV-Vis) techniques. The results show that TiO2 mesoporous own high photocatalytic activity. Especially the 0.3g sample that was calcined at 400℃which could make 40 ml the methyl orange solution 20 mg/L decomposes in 30 minutes. Compared to the sale TiO2 power, the photodecompose ratio of the outcomes is higher than it much more. The outcomes still own high photocatalytic activity through three cycles, washing and freeze dry system.In addition, this paper summarizes the application development foreground and questions in the study of mesoporous TiO2 materials. This paper puts forward advice to the next investigation in mesoporous TiO2 materials.
