The synthesis, structure and characteristic of oxovanadium complexes containing poly(pyrzolyl)borate are our mainly work. This paper, we synthesize 12 complexes as following: (1)VO(O2)(pz)(HB(pz)3) (2)VO(O2)(pz)(B(pz)4) (3)VO (HB(pz')3)(pz') (CCl3COO) (4)VO(HB(pz')3)(pz')(C6H5COO) (5)VO (HB(pz')3)(pz') (m-NO2-C6H4COO) (6)VO (HB(pz')3)(pz')(H2O) (m-NO2-C6H4SO3) (7)VO(HB(pz')3)(pz')(N3) (8)V2O2(μ-pz)4 (μ-OOSO2)(μ-OCH3)(pz)4 (9)VO (pz')2(C6H5COO) (10)[{Zn(2,2′-bipy)3}2V4O12]·12H2O (11)Zn[HB(pz)3]2 (12)Zn[B(pz)4]2The structures of complexes 1 and 3-12 are determined by the X-ray crystal diffractometer. Although the crystal of complex 2 was not obtained, through the IR,UV and NMR(1HNMR,13CNMR and 51VNMR) we can successfully confer the molecular structure formula. All complexes are mainly characterized by IR spectrum,UV spectrum and thermal decomposition etc. Using quantum calculus, the orbital'eigenvalues,net charge,natural electron configuration and bond order for complexes 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 are given. In addition, cell toxicity of some oxovanadium complexes are studied, Those results show that both the structure of vanadium complex and the characteristic of the ligand affect the biological activities of vanadium complex, which are some importance to synthesize insulin-like vanadium complexes later.
