The effects of structural parameters such as the exhaust tube and dustdischarge structure on separation performance of the guide vane cyclone tube, were studied by comparative experiments. On the structure of Shell-Typecyclone tube, a new guide vane cyclone tube was developed and designed byenlarging the exhaust tube and adopting the slotted vortex finder and dustdischarge cone. The separation efficiency and operating flexibility of the newcyclone tube wassuperior tothat of Shell-Type cyclone tube, while the pressuredropwas kept thesame. The distribution of gas flow field and particle concentration in the newguide vane cyclone tube were measured with five-orifice pitot tube and bymeansofisokineticsamplingmethod, andthe effectsofstructuralparametersonthe distribution of gas-solid two-phase flow were investigated. There was astrong vortex flow in the cylindrical separation room of the new guide vanecyclonetube, thestrength ofwhichdecreasedlittlealongtheaxialdirection.Theshort cut stream under the exhaust tube decreased greatly while high particlecapture efficiency was preserved by using the slotted vortex finder. In the dustdischarge cone, the vortex strength was kept stable so that the particles re-entrained from the hopper could be re-separated greatly. The slots in the dustdischarge cone allowed large particles to be thrown out into the hopper inadvance, which could decrease re-entrainment under the dustdischarge cone. Inaddition, the slots could prevent the dust discharge cone from crusting andclogging because ofincreasing dust discharge area. All resultsaboveprovided abase for further research on the separation mechanism and calculation ofseparationperformanceofthenewguidevanecyclonetube.
