| This paper is associated with the approach to making the nano-crystal nickel alloy by pulse-plating technique and the unique properties of the produced material. Based on study on the influence of solution composition and pulse parameters, namely, pulse on-time, off-time and peak current density on deposition layer in the pulse plating process, desirable diamond tools are easily obtained by using the alternating pulse deposition. The conclusions go as follows:(1) Both the additive and CoSO4 can make the deposit's grain fine. But, too much more additive added into the solution can't help to refine the grain size of the deposit. The proper quantity of the additive and CoSO4 can definitely result in a considerable refinement of the grain. The peak current density and the pulse on and pulse off time can refine the grain, as well.(2) Through XRD analysis of pulse electro-deposition layer and the surface morphology, the average size of the grain reaches to 3nm as expected. The tensile strength of the nano nickel cobalt deposition layer reaches to 1661Mpa high. The micro-hardness of the layer can be HV601.(3) The hardness of the layer is largely affected by the grain size. Adding some Co also lead to a decrease in quantity of the addictive, needed to produce nano-sized deposit.(4) The tools made by the alternating pulse deposition are distinctively superior to those made by common technique. In general, the alternating pulse can effectively avoid the number of nodules appearing on the tool's surface. |
