Ecological restoration is a core of research into the variation of the global environment. Since the middle of the 20th century, mankind has increased the fragile degree of environment evidently and led the ecological environment to become more fragile. The transition zone and the fragile regions of ecology were affected apparently by degradation and mankind's activities.The ecological environment of Caohai is very fragile; it is a form of wetland which is damaged seriously and easily by human activities and man-made effects anecdotally, and it can reveal many of problems between human activities on Chinese wetlands and the natural environment generally. We should continue to research the environmental variation, influenced by region and ecological restoration in the area, which would help us to achieve some corresponding methods for solving those problems; which are also meaningful in a wider context.Under the background of the global environment, we can ask what will happen next to Caohai, and to what kind of variation does the environment respond? Also, to what kind of effect does human activity lead? Further, to what kind of relationship did exist previously in quality and quantity among the human factors, the fragile degree of environment and especially the loss of water and soil?This article is based on those related theories and it analyses the features and degrees of the environmental fragility in Caohai comprehensively. The article helps to establish an evalution system for the fragile degree of environment. It evaluated the fragile degree of the ecological environment and also explored the factors which humans had imposed and the dominant factors which led to environmental deterioration. It also established a form of theory for restoring the ecological environment.The article offered some methods, factors, objectives and principles for ecological rehabilitation and reconstruction, and it gave some guidance to deal with such problems; the specific ways being : 1. Purification of the water. 2. Removal and control of interference factors. 3. Growth of native plants. 4. The development of eco-tourism.Also the ecological rehabilitation and reconstruction principles: 1. Geographical principle. 2. System and the principles of ecology. 3. The principle of maximum efficiency and minimum risk.Finally, it also offered specific factors for ecological rehabilitation and reconstruction, including several major aspects: 1. Innovation of concepts. 2. Technological innovation. 3. Innovation of mechanism. 4. Supporting policy.In summary, the article holds to a firm belief that ecological restoration and reconstruction must mutually bring benefits both to ecology and the economy.
