The development trend of CNC punch, the present situation and the general design method of the forging punch are introduced in this paper, Taking a company's New-style toggle CNC punch as the object of this study, the static and dynamic characteristics of CNC Punch are analyzed in modern design methods including multi-body system,FEA method,structural optimization. Frame structure has been optimized based on the analysis results.The main research work is following:1. The kinematics of the main transfer system of CNC punch is studied(including analysis of displacement,velocity,acceleration), the links'length of the toggle transfer system are determined according to displacement of the slider.2. The static characteristic of the frame of CNC punch is analyzed. The finite element model of the frame is established, the stress and the strain of punch at working is computed by finite element software. Plan of redesigning of the structure is proposed based on the analysis.3. The influences of the thickness, dimension of the frame to the mechanical performance are analyzed by COSMOS/Works. Appropriate parameters are selected to optimize the frame structure, topology optimization is carried out by ANSYS then.4. Modal analysis of frame is done to extract the first ten natural frequencies and modalities of the frame structure in Lanczos method.Quality of the frame is reduced 9% in insurance of performance of the punch and low frequencies are increased based on the analysis. The quality of the product is improved, the cost is reduced and the enterprise competition is enhanced.
