| With the use of a lot of pesticides, there was significant harm to the human being's health and the environment in the world. Triazine herbicides and Phenylurea herbicides were the commonly used herbicides in our country. They are being used increasingly in the recent years, the water has been polluted seriously. The combination of liquid chromatographic separation and mass spectrometry (LC/MS) detection is an important analytical technique which has been developed since 1980s. The technique is increasingly being used for many fields, such as chemistry, medication sanitation, food science, life science, and environment science, because it not only has good separation performance of the chromatographic but also has high sensitivity and a wide range analysis of the mass spectrometry. The technique of solid phase extraction (SPE) has been developed in the recent years as a sample pretreatment technique. It has a lot of advantages such as simply operation, quick analysis speed, safety for the operator, low costs, without emulsification, flexibility and high preconcentration efficency. So it has been used to separate and preconcentrate lots of organic analytes in the water.Based on a summary of the current situation of pesticide residue, especially the herbicides residue in the water, then the pretreatment techniques and detection methods were reviewed. SPE and LC-MS were mainly introduced. The principle, process and using in the environment water of SPE, the interfacing technique, the atmospheric pressure ionization, mass analyzers and application of LC/MS were importantly introduced in the article.According to the analysis of Triazine herbicides and Phenylurea herbicides, a LC/MS method to determine the five herbicides, i.e. atrazine, prometryne, simazine, chlorotoluron, and isoproturon in the water has been founded. First, the experimental parameters of HPLC and related conditions of the MS were optimized. Based on the corresponding mass spectrums of the peaks in the total ion chromatograms, the five components in water can be fast identified. The curve coefficients has been made by the extracted ion chromatograms, the results showed a good linear relationship between the peak area and mass concentration for the five herbicides. In order to increase the recovery and reproductivity, the extraction conditions of SPE such as eluting solvents, sample rates were optimized through massive experiments. At last, we determined the actual polluted water by high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry coupled with Solid-phase extraction. The method is simple and quickly. The developed method not only provides an accurate and reliable method to analyse the Triazine herbicides and Phenylurea herbicides in the water but also is ready for the analysis of more types herbicides in water. |
