Ultraviolet spectrophotometer that applies in the kineticsstudy of absorption process in solid-liquid system possessesgood reproducibility and stability in binary and multiple systems. The measurement system, which possesses high level ofautomatization, can measure the test samples directly. In this thesis, the ultraviolet spectrophotometery wasapplied to study the adsorption behavior of origanic acid/alkalion 732-resin, NKA-â…¡resin, D252 resin and activated carbon. The influence of absorbent in mass and concentration, temperature, added salt, and enthanol on absorption behaviorwere primarily studied and the principles of the influence factorswere analyzed as well. The apparent adsorption rate constant(k), equilibrium adsorption capacity (Qe), the adsoptionappetency (Ua), affinity energy (E), and apparent active energyof absorbate (Ea) were determined. The experimental results indicated that:1.The adsorption kinetics of benzonic acid on D252 resinand activated carbon fitted well with BMA model and theadsorptive processes were controlled by film diffusion. The resultsalso showed that the rate of adsorption increased along with theexperiment temperature. For a fixed experiment atemperature, theadsorptive rate increased along with the mass of activated carbon. 2.The adsorption behavior of potassium acid phthalate onactivated carbon fitted well with the BAM model and theadsorptive processes were controlled by film diffusion. Therate of adsorption increased with the increasing of experimenttemperature.3.The adsorption kinetics of P-toluidime on 732-resin fittedwell with shell-core model and the adsorptive processes werecontrolled by chemical reaction. The rate of adsorption ofP-toluidime on resin increased along with the mass of adsorbentand the experiment temperature. However, the increase ofethanol percentage in solutions led to the decrease of adsorptionrates of P-toluidime on adsorbents at a specific experimenttemperature. When the mass of absorbent, the concentration ofthe sobent, and the experiment temperature were fixed together, the rate of adsorption decreased according to the increase in theconcentration of added salt.4.Adsorption behavior of m-chloroaniline on NKA-â…¡resinobeyed monolayer adsorption mechanism. The results showedthat the rate of adsorption of m-chloroaniline on resin increasedaccording to the increase of experiment temperature. When theexperiment temperature was fixed, the adsorptive capacityincreased along with the concentration of the sobent. However, the adsoption appetency and affinity energy decreased when theconcentration of sobent increased.
