As modern stamping technology quickly developing and its application areabeing enlarged, aiming at increasing productivity and improving quality of blankedparts as well as reducing production cost, many blanking processes have been broughtforward until now. However, compared with general blanking, those processes costtoo much in production and with a tough environment of punch being pressed,diversified factors during the design, manufacture and utilization courses may resultin bend, break, severe abrasion of punch and thus shortening of die life. moreover, forgeneral blanked parts with thick plate, the quality of cross-section of blanked parts arevery poor, espiecially the burnish length is not big enough which influence quality ofblanked parts.Based on lots of domestic and abroad technologic information, for increasing theburnish length of cross-section of blanked parts, research on forming process ofblanking has been done in the article. Firstly, some blanking processes for improvingquality of cross-section of blanked parts are enumerated, a new blanking process i.e.dual positive clearence blanking process is presented and demonstrated with plentifultheoretical experiments. Secondly, basic knowledge about finite-element-method onwhich numerical simulation technology is relied is briefly introduced, and thecharacter and function of FEM numerical simulation software Deform, exclusivelyused for bulk forming, are summarized and analyzed, followed by the analysis onstress and strain as well as deformation process in the utilization of numericalsimulation software Deform-2D. Finally, practical experiments on big-hole blankingfor vehicle spokes are done under the utilization of dual positive clearance blankingprocess, followed by analysis of the experiment results.Dual positive clearance blanking process presented in this article enrichsstamping process, As it brings an academic innovation and meets the demands ofproduction as well, it will offer an instructional and referenced significance to furtherresearch and spreading of forming process of stamping technology.
