Activated sludge from the wastewater plant was inoculated and domesticated in this thesis to get the advantage bacterial. The PVA-H3BO3 immobilization method was improved to make the immobilized bead which was filled in the Bio-trickling Filter to removal the ethanethiol. The result showed that the advantage bacterial which can get rid of methyl of sulphide can obtained through inoculating and domesticating the activated sludge from the wastewater treating plants firstly. The domesticating course last 50 days, the removal rate reach over 95% steadily, when the influent concentration of COD is about 800mg/L, the effluent concentration is about 20mg/L.The immobilization of activated sludge by PVA-H3BO3 method was improved by adding activated carbon, SiO2, CaCO3 and CA to improve the removal rate of COD. It was proved that the removal rate of COD was highest when the content of PVA, SiO2, CaCO3, CA; activated carbon and activated sludge was 6.5%, 1.5%, 0.3%, 0.6%; 0.3%; 45% respectively. The result showed that the removal rate of COD was steady in the continuous reaction, and the average removal rate of COD by the improved immobilized bead was 80.2%. The immobilized bead was adapted well to the sudden change of the pH and COD.A removal process for ethanethiol in a packed bed of the immobilized activated sludge pellets was discussed. The pellets of immobilized activated sludge were prepared with improved polyvinyl alcohol-boric acid. The experimental results in the packed trickling filter show that the removal efficiency lower than 60% when the inlet flux was greater than 0.2m3/h. The inlet gas concentration has no effect on the removal efficiency of the ethanethiol when the inlet gas flux was 0.05 m3/h and 0.1 m3/h. when the inlet gas flux was 0.15 m3/h, the removal efficiency of the ethanethiol will increase at first and then decrease and the outlet gas concentration will increase, corresponding to the increasing of the inlet gas concentration. The adaptation to the sudden change of concentration and the stability of the continuum running of the bio-trickling filter are strong.
