| With the progress of science and technology, squeeze casting mold technology develops fast in the world. Squeeze casting products are widely used in the manufacture of automobile and motorcycle as well as household electric appliance industry. During the mold development, it is very common to raise the design efficiency by collaboration. The communication and the transmission of imformation is more and more important. With the unceasingly accelerating step of the upgrade and renewal for product, the product itself is more and more complex, which increase the complexity of the mold structure. So the two-dimensional engineering plat or the static graphic model has been unable to express designer's intention vividly. The virtual reality technology can give dynamic display of the product realistic scene by the three-dimensional image, and can realize interaction between the viewer and the object. It has enriched the content and the way of the information transmission greatly.This paper explores how to establish cavity, core and die insert of squeeze casting mold quickly. It applies Pro/E to model the squeeze casting mold. Static and dynamic interference checking of the model make sure that the design of model structure and components are correct. It uses 3D Studio MAX to set material of the model and design the motion simulation of disassembling, assembling, mold-opening, mold-unloading and mold-closing of the squeeze casting mold and then use Cult 3D to design the interaction of the simulation. This has realized the virtual reality of mold disassembling, assembling and the work process at a certain degree. Finally make the virtual reality document to executable program which can be executed without software package, debugging and installing. It satisfies the demand of the design of complete green-software.The result shows that we can design the parts of the squeeze casting mold with the MOLDESIGN in Pro/E fast. With the interference checking of 3D motion simulation, errors in designing can be discovered early and then can be improved in time. So we can raise the design efficiency and reduce the design cost effectively. The virtual reality design of the disassembling, assembling, mold-opening, mold-unloading and mold-closing of squeeze casting mold makes the disassembling, assembling and the work process be expressed vividly and allows user to operate the mold interactively in real time. |
