3-methoxythiophene has been synthesized from sodium methoxide and3-bromothiophene, using N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP) as the solvent and CuBras the catalyst. The product was confirmed by FTIR, EIMS, 13C-NMR, DEPT.The product synthesized was qualitatively determined by GC-MS, An internalstandard is used to quatitatively determine the concentration of3-methoxythiophene. The effects of molar ratio, amount of catalyst, reactiontime and reaction temperature to the yield of 3-methoxythiophene wasinvestigated via orthogonal experiment. When the optimum reaction conditionswas 1:2, 3 h, 120℃, 2%, the yield of 3-methoxythiophene was 88.0% and thepurity of 3-methoxythiophene was 97.0%.Then 3-hexoxythiophene has been synthesized from 3-methoxy-thiopheneand n-hexanol with anhydrous sodium bisulfate as catalyst. The products wereconfirmed by FTIR, EIMS, 13C-NMR, DEPT. The effects of molar ratio, amountof catalyst, reaction time and reaction temperature to the yield of3-hexoxythiophene was investigated via orthogonal experiment. When theoptimum reaction conditions was 1:1.6, 3.5 h, 115℃, 2%, the yield of 3-heoxythiophene was 72.3% and the purity of 3-methoxythiophene was95.0%。The substituted polythiophene, i.e. poly(3-methoxythiophene) (P3MOT)and poly (3-hexoxythiophene) (P3HOT) have been synthesized by chemicalmethod with Fe(Ⅲ) catalyzed oxidation of their monomer. P3HOT films wereconfirmed by Scanning electron microscope(SEM) and ultraviolet- visibleabsorption spectrometry (UV-VIS), and the electrochemical property wasinvestigated by Cyclic voltammetry.Poly thiophene/CdSe films have been synthesized by electrochemistry in0.01 mol/L BFEE-acetonitrile system with ITO working electrode. The Polythiophene/CdSe complex films were confirmed by SEM, and theelectrochemical property was investigated by Cyclic voltammetry.Polythiopheneand Poly(3-alkyloxythiophene) are materials which are fit for sensitizingnanostructured CdSe from the experiment. There materials have potentialapplication in the electrolyte solution of the solid-state nanostrueturedphotoelectrochemisry solar cell.
