1) Trimellitic anhydride was reacted with 4,4'-diaminodiphenyl ether or 3,3'-diaminodiphenyl sulfone in a mixture of toluene and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone at 60℃for 2 hours and refluxed at 130℃for 8 hours,so N,N'-(4,4'-diphenylether) bistrimellitimide diacide or N,N'-(3,3'-diphenylsulfone) bistrimellitimide were obtained in a quantitive yield.Then, two new monomer N,N'-(4,4'-diphenylether) bistrimellitimide diacid chloride (DIDC-E) and N,N'-(3,3'-diphenylsulfone) bistrimellitimide diacid chloride (DIDC-S) were synthesized with high yield by chlorinating the corresponding diimide-diacid (DIDA) in the solution of thionyl chloride and some drops of N,N'-dimethylacetamide as catalyst. They were recrystallized by dichlorolmethane two times. Their structures were characterized by FT-IR,1H and 13C NMR.2) A series of Poly(aryl ether sulfone imide ketone)(PESEKI), Poly(aryl ether ether ketone imide ketone) PEEKIK were prepared by low temperature solution polycondensation taking N,N'-(4.4'-diphenylether)bistrimellitimide diacid chloride and 4,4'-diphenoxydiphenylsulfone(DPODPS) and its derivatives as monomers,which including 4,4'-di(2-methylphenoxy) diphenylsulfone (o-MeDPODPS), 4,4'- di(2,6-bimethylphenoxy) biphenylsulfone(o-Me2DPODPS), 4,4'-bi(2,6-bimethyl phenoxy)triphenyldiketone (o-Me2DPOTPDK) respectively, in 1,2-dichloroethane (DCE), at the presence of anhydrous aluminum chloride (AlCl3) and N,N'-dimethylacetamide as catalyst. The structure and properties of polymers were studied by FT-IR, 1H NMR, DSC, TG and WAXD. The polymers were soluble in some organic solvents,such as: chloroform, m-cresol,o-chlorophenol, tetrechloroethane and so on.The results indicate that polymers have high glass transition temperatures (Tg), high initial decomposition temperatures and good thermal stability. They can form transparent thin films. 3) Three kinds of poly(aryl ether sulfone ether imide ketone)s were obtained by low temperature solution polycondensation in 1,2-dichloroethane and at the presence of AlCl3 and DMAc, taking the N,N'-(3,3'-diphenylsulfone) bistrimellitimide diacid chloride (DIDC-S) , 4,4'-diphenoxydiphenylsulfone (DPODPS) and its derivatives as the monomers. The polymers were characterized by solubility test,FT-IR,WAXD,TG,1H NMR,etc. the results show that the polymers'Tg were increasing as the number of methyl group increasing,and the solubility of the polymers was improved. Methyl pedant as a potential group can be oxidizated, chloroded and so on to extend the application of the polymers.4) A series of random copolymers containing ortho-methyl ,were prepared by low temperature solution polycondensation of 1,4-bis(2-methylphenoxy) diphenylketone (o-MeDPODPS),terephthaloyl chloride (TPC) and 4,4'-bisphenylbenzene in 1,2-dichloroethane and at the presence of AlCl3 and DMAc. The copolymers were characterized by solubility test, FT-IR, WAXD, TG, 1H NMR, etc. The results show that the copolymers'Tg was increasing with the ratio of the third monomer o-MeDPODPS increasing and Tm was decreasing. When the ratio of o-MeDPODPS during10%~30%,the copolymers show good thermal stability and resistance to organic solvents and so on.
