The copper's dynamic response undergoing explosive load is discussed in this paper. Firstly, we analyze the laws of copper's move and out of shape after the shock wave enters the copper in theory. Then, using the LS-DYNA2D software, we can simulate the whole process of copper's move undergoing explosive load. Finally, We designed the recover test of copper coin based on the above analysis. After the recover test, we get some intact copper coins. It reveals that the analytic results of calculating in the theory and numerical simulation can be believed.Temperature is an important factor of influencing material performance. Under the loading of impact of exploding, The copper receives the influence of shock wave, sparse wave and its own out of shape in a short period of time, so the temperature change in the copper is very violent and complicated, and this has very great influence to micro organization of the copper. This text got the variation tendency and range of temperature in coppers through the theory combined the experimental data.In the metallographic examination of copper we can see that there are many different kinds of microstructures on the cross-section of copper coin. It suggests that every pressure in the copper is different in the course of impact, and the same with temperature. The material will develop extensive twinning within grain structure with high pressure and high temperature. This has verified the result of temperature calculation.
