The PVC's thermal stabilizers are devoloping with nontoxic high-efficiency compositetrend. Calcium-Zinc stabilizer is a widely-acknowledged nontoxic stabilizer. In this paper, theepoxy group was added to calcium soap aimed to synthesize epoxied calcium soap with highstabilizing efficiency. From now on, there is some hardness in preparing epoxied calcium soap:the high price of raw material, the complicated processing costed much and so on. Herein, wesynthesised epoxied fatty acid methyl ester and epoxied calcium soap from bio-disiel (fatty acidmethyl ester). There is no catalyst was introduced. This is a bulk and economic path.The result of the experiment proved the best process conditions was what in below: Forsynthesizing epoxied fatty acid methyl ester, the composite (150 g bio-disiel and 14.82 g 88%formic acid and 68.84 g 35% hydrogen peroxide)was reacted at 63℃for 4 hours. Forsynthesizing epoxied calcium soap, 10.80 g 95% calcium hydroxide and 80 g epoxied fatty acidmethyl ester were added in 800 ml distilled water reacted at 95℃for 4 hours.Pentaerythritol is an important co-stabilizer in the processing of PVC. But it was usedlimitedly for its low resistance to water. In order to improve the consistency to resin and rid thedisadvantage of separating out of PVC product, one selected method is to transfer one hyfroxy toester group. Many experimental details were introduced in this paper. For synthesizingpentaerythritol mono-palmitate, the composite (45.78 g pentaerythritol and 78.38 g hexadecylicacid and 0.62 g para-toluenesulfonic) was reacted at 175℃for 1.5 hours. For synthesizingdiphenyl-monopentaerythritol-phosphite, the composite (27.45g pentaerythritol and 62.55 gtriphenyl-phosphite and 0.9g potassium hydroxide) was reacted at 200℃for 1 hour.For study the stabilizing efficiency of the products, the congo red tests and oven tests andtorque rheometer process tests were used. Experimental and characterial details indicated that thestabilizing efficiency of epoxied-Calcium-soap was higher than Calcium stearate, and thestabilizing efficiency of selected epoxied-Calcium-soap and Zinc stabilizer was higher than somecornmercial products. Some of them equal the Bear brand Calcium-Znic composite stabilizerfrom Germany. |
