Along with the improvement of the standard of living, people' s dresses of their own require to be increased also. People enjoy clothing made by natural fibres more and more at the same time. Moreover, pollution produced by white pollution which are made of synthetic material and fiber bring crisis to man. And those natural fibers that are prone to degrade are good to environmental conservation. Natural fibers as regenerating resource can be used to make weaving fibers, which accords with the persist development strategy. Therefore, the developments about natural fibres become more important. Besides the development about routine natural fibers (such as cotton, hemp, silk, wool), people give more importance to some new plant fibers. These new plant fibers not only enrich textile materials, but also bring certain economic and social benefit. The fibre of Eulaliopsis binata consists in its leave and belongs to leaf fibers. At present, the fibre has not been developed completely, because it is mainly used to make paper, conserve soil, fabricate hand knitting. This paper discusses the problem about whether Eulaliopsis binata fiber can be used for textile. If the answer is "yes", benefit of growing Eulaliopsis binata will be increased further, also the variety of China' textiles will be added.First the applications and its usevalue, research of both here and abroad are recommended particularly; then research' s purpose, its meaning and its content are introduced. Eulaliopsis binata' characteristics is also gave in this paper. Eulaliopsis binata' s chemical constituent is analyzed quantitatively in the light of ramie chemical constituent quantitative analysis standard GB5888-89. At the same time, its chemical constituent is compared with other plant fibers. Through discussing chemical degumming mechanism of Eulaliopsis binata, and its chemical constituent analysis, and considering characteristics of its own, degumming process route is confirmed o Through doing simple single gene experiment, both parameter extent of NaOH consistency and treatment time are ensured. Adopting the universal rotatable experimental design to obtain the relations between the main parameters (NaOH concentration, treatment time and the efficiency of degumming) ; Finding the best degnmming technique. Besides the traditional chemical dugumming, two kind of new degumming methods are tried in this study. One is the method that called degumming & bleaching one-bath in one step, and the other is assistanted by ultrasonic. At the end of this paper, Eulaliopsis binata' s performance is discussed simply. Under the research condition in this paper, we obtain the following conclusions:(a) Eulaliopsis binata' s cellulose content is more than 45.10 % which is larger than sisal and palm. And the fundamental characteristic of this fiber is good comparatively. So the fiber deserves to be developed further.(b) process route of degumming is: rawmaterial—picking--rinsing—boiling off—rinsing—acid rinsing—dehydrate—oil feed—rinsing—dehydrate—pure fibre.(c) Adopting the universal rotatable experimental design, the best degumming technique is found. NaOH concentration: 9.06g/L; treatment time: 63.31min; Na3PO4: 5.97%.(d) The methods of degumming & bleaching one-bath and ultrasonic assistanted are good to environment, and energy sources are also can be saved.
