The strength and toughness of materials will go up with the refinement of material structure. As a result, it becomes one of the most significant and basic method how to improve the properties of materials by means of refining material structure. This paper discussed a new method of refining material structure Continuous Variable Cross-section Recycled Extrusion This kind of technology is to get accumulated strain and further refine grains by pressing deformation and upsetting deformation again and again.Based on the research of Lead and 1A85 pure Aluminum, this paper test this new method at the beginning from the structural design of model, observation of moving rules of metals, analysis of pressing force and technology principle as well. The material structure and properties of 1A85 pure Aluminum after Continuous Variable Cross-section Recycled Extrusion was analyzed and the main conclusion including as following:To observes the metal moving rules of Lead workpiece and demonstrates the feasibility of this new technology in refining material property. To study the deforming features of positive extrusion and upset, summarize the deforming characteristics of compound technology between extrusion and upset. To reveal that this technology can achieve the excellent effect in obtain fine and even equiaxed grain and the grain size fine from 100 μm to 1μm and further analyze the features of material structure using TEM testing experiments. To carry out tension experiment to discover that the tensile strength of deformed materials increase 60 percent comparing with that of non-deforming; hardness enhance with the increase of cycle deforming times and get the maximum value that is one time in increase compared to that of non-deformation after the forth cycle deformation.
