When the rolling mill bites steel and brings strike, the drive system often goes with the vibration phenomenon, which not only threatens the safe produce of the drive system and affects the surface quality of product. Most of the world's steel rolling mill companies more or less exist vibration problems.Especially, Steel rolling industry has developed rapidly to large-scale industrial, high-speed technology and automation direction. With the increasing of the weight of pieces, the speed of the rolling ,and the constantly improving quality requirements, these problems are more conspicuous. So it will be urgent that we should test and evaluate steel rolling equipment in time. On the basis of technology development contracts, namely "The test calculation and assessment of mechanical equipment capacity of F1 and F4 Refined rolling mill of Baogang 2050 hot rolling steel units " which is signed by Shanghai Baoshan Iron and Steel Company Ltd. and Yanshan University. We tested a number of parameters on F1 and F4 units. On the basis of this test, this paper analysises F1 and F4 rolling mill twisting in detail. This paper calculates inherent frequency, the mode of vibration and torque amplifier factor of the owners drivetrain system of F1 and F4.On the twisting experimental platform, we test two conditions, conclding the axis with clearance or crack, analyse the signals we have getten using wavelet tools and gain the character of the signal.According to this, we test and evaluate F1 and F4 of Baogang 2,050 hot steel rolling mill, which provide evidences for futural failure diagnosis.
