| In this paper Yb:YVO4 powder with homogenously dispersive and small size was prepared for fabricating Yb:YVO4 transparent laser crystal as the starting materials. The sol-gel method and liquid phase co-deposited method have been adopted to prepare the samples.Yb:YVO4 polycrystalline precursor nanopowder of transparent laser crystal was synthesized by sol-gel method. XRD,SEM and fluorescence spectrum were used to study Yb:YVO4 nanopowder. Results indicated that pH value, complex agents, reactive temperature have impact greatly the formation on stable sol-gel. XRD patterns of the samples show that thesamples exhibit the quartet structure, the space group is D4h19 - I41/ amd .The crystaline grain grow gradually with increasing temperature. SEM shows the powder was sphere in shape and dispersed homogeneously. Pure Yb:YV04 crystals were obtained at 1000℃ for 8h. Analysis of fluorescence spectrum showed that the fluorescence emission is at 1025.76nm by Yb3+(2 F7/2→2F5/2) transition. Liquid co-deposited method has also been adopted to prepare Yb:YVO4 polycrystalline powder. XRD, SEM, and fluorescence spectrum were used to characterize the polycrystalline powder. The results showed that the pure Yb:YVO4 crystals were obtained at 800℃ for 8h by co-deposited method.In addition,we have also carried out the research work on 5%at., 10%at.,20%at., 50%at., 100at. Yb doped YVO4. XRD and SEM analysis results are similar to that of the Yb:YVO4 powder. |
