In manufacturing processes,high speed cutting is widely used because of its highest cutting speed,extremely high fabricating precision, very good finishing surface and its advantages in fabricating thin case and hard-to-cut materials. So people begin to do some researches of high speed cutting system.The research of cooling is one of these researches.Cooling affects the machining precision of workpieces and the tool-life greatly.Now,in the high speed machining,coolant is the main cooling mode.This paper does some research work of the coolant in the process of high speed machining,By using computer simulation and experiment method,did some basic researchs of the influence of the coolant flux to the surface temperature of workpiece.The result of research can guide the practical production.First, establish the computer simulation model of high speed machining;use the finite element simulation analysis software to carry out the machining temperature field of the workpiece.Second,in the process of experiment,change the coolant flux,by analyzing and contrasting the data of the experiment, we can find the influence of different parameter to the surface temperature of workpiece.Last, contrast the data of the experiment and the result of finite element simulation analysis, validate the reliability of computer simulation, found the formula between the surface temperature and the coolant flux.
