The environment pollution and the agricultural product quality problem attracts wide concerns, because persistent organic pollutants in soil and pesticide residues in vegetable are limiting factors for sustainable development, food security and agricultural product export. In recent years, our country has paid heavy cost in the agricultural product safety and export, resulting from soil pollution and pesticide residues in agricultural products. More and more attention has been paid on fast and effective determination method of multi-residues in soil and agricultural products. This item studied the determination and conformation of the toxic organic pollutants in the environment and the agricultural product. The samples were extracted by ultrasonication and further purified by solid phase extraction. Quantitative analysis was carried out using gas chromatograph (GC) equipped with double columns and coupled to a MSD operated in the selected ion monitoring mode (SIM), respectively, to confirm the identification of compounds. Detection methods of 10 kinds of organic pollutants in soil and 14 kinds of agricultural chemicals in vegetable were established. For quality assurance and quality control according to U.S. EPA Method 8081A, matrixes spiked by the standard solution were analyzed. The recoveries were 86%~116% for organophate pesticides and 75 %~103 % for organochlorine pesticides, respectively. The detection limits of the method were 0.0010 mg/kg~0.2500 mg/kg for GC with 0.1~0.2 mg/kg spiking levels and 75.6%~86.7% for GC-MS at 2 mg/kg. This monitoring technology was applied in the routine monitoring of multiple residues of organic pollutants in farmlands and vegetables in Ningbo and proved to have good application prospect.
