Usually, introducing organic component into inorganic materials at molecule level can improve their toughness, adhesion; On the contrary, introducing inorganic component into organic material may enhance its rigidity, heat resistance and ageing-resistant performance. The performance of hybrid material will be perfect because performance of organic-inorganic component is complementary by crosslinking and compounding. At present, preparation of hybrid material via a sol-gel process has been a hot field in material research.Several acrylic resins with different mass contents of 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate(MEMO), methyl methacrylate(MMA), butyl acrylate(BA), styrene(St) were polymerized by using free radical solution method. The structures of the acrylic resin were analyzed by using FT-IR, 1H-NMR, DSC and TG. Weight loss experiment indicates heat-resisting performance of acrylic resin is relatively low, but the temperature of glass is accord with requirement of coating film.A new procursor with ring structure was synthesized by the hydrosilylation of 2,4,6,8-tetramethylcyclotetrasiloxane with vinyltrimethoxysilane. A novel crosslinking hybrid coating was prepared via a sol-gel process with different mass contents of acrylic resin and the procursor. The result indicates the hybrid coating performance was excellently mixed acrylic resin with 20% 3-(Trimethoxysilyl)-propyl methacrylate(MEMO) with the proportion of 20%. Introducing acrylic resin makes the weatherable, acidproof and alkaline and sticking membrane of the coating improve a lot, at the same time, inorganic composition of silicon-oxygen chemical bond including higher energy improves greatly ageing-resistant, abrasion- resistance, high-glossiness and hardness of hybrid coatings. The effective binding of organic and inorganic together achieves the complementarity of the material performance.Two different types of nano-hybrid coatings were prepared by mixing polystyrene grafted onto nano-SiO2 and polyethylacrylate grafted onto nano-SiO2 into hybrid coatings, respectively. Two new hybrid coatings prepared proved to be composite in molecular dimension by TEM ananlysis. With different mass contents of two nano-grafted materials interfused, the effect of performance of nano-hybrid coatings was studied.
