And to examine the changes of c-fos and c-jun expression in prostate and seminal vesicle with the effects of gastrointestinal exposure to Cd2+, in order to clarify the damage of Cd2+ on the prostate and seminal vesicle at the molecular level. Material and MethodsTwenty-four male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly divided into six groups including the control groups (group A and B) and the experimental groups (group C, D, E, and F). The group C and D were given solutions containing Cd2+ 2.9mg/kg·day by gastric perfusion once a day, while group E and group F were given solutions containing Cd2+5.8mg/kg·day by gastrogavage once daily. The group C and E were administered for 2 months as subchronic exposure to Cd2+ respectively. The group D and F were administered for 4 months as chronic exposure to Cd2+. The prostate indexes and seminal vesicle indexes were detected and HE staining was used to observe changes on histological structure of prostate and seminal vesicle tissues. Transmission electron microscope was used to observe changes on ultrastructure of prostate and seminal vesicle tissues. The expression of c-fos mRNA and c-jun mRNA of prostate and seminal vesicle was detected by RT-PCR. Results Histological structure and ultrastructure of prostate: The prostate indexes... | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Cd2+, Rat, Prostate, Seminal Vesicle, TEM, c-fos, c-jun, RT-PCR | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
