| Low content of methane can explode in coal mine. The separation of methane from coalbed is to separate between methane and nitrogen. The separation between methane and nitrogen is difficult. The major two tasks of the paper are the separation between methane and nitrogen and separation of coalbed methane by Pressure Swing Adsorption. The adsorbent in the study is superactivated carbon with large surface area. First, we measured methane/nitrogen system breakthrough curves at different pressure and temperature. Find that the lower the pressure, the larger the separation factor. The separation factor is stable within 19-25℃. At 25℃and 100kPa, the separation factor for methane/nitrogen system of TJU01 is 8. Second, we also studied separation of coal methane. In order to find the test conditions of two beds we measured the methane breakthrough curve of one bed. The tests conditions involve the time of adsorption, the time of desorption, feed rate and operation pressure. By pressure swing adsorption, we study the major parameters of two beds included the time of blow down, the time for pressure equalization and purging ratio. The production air is purified. |
