| Much attention has been paid to the synthesis and application of dimethyl carbonate (DMC) because of its low toxicity and versatile chemical activity. It can be use as an environment-friendly intermediate and starting material for organic synthesis substituting the poisonous phosgene and dimethyl sulfate in carbonylation and methylation reaction. In addition, DMC can also used as a fuel oil additive for improve the octane value. From oxygen, carbon monoxide and dimethyl ether, dimethyl carbonate was synthesized. This method of direct synthesis of dimethyl carbonate is firstly put forward.By using Sol-Gel method, nanometer CeO2 was preparated. Many kinds of complex chlorides such as PdCl2 was loaded on CeO2; PdCl2-CuCl was loaded on CeO2; (PdCl2-CuCl) was loaded on CeO2+ZrO2; PdCl2-CuCl was loaded on CeO2+MoO3 .The structure of these catalysts were characterized.Experiments have been carried out in stainlesssteel reactor. The effects of catalyst, temperature, reactive time and catalyst quantities on the yield of DMC were investigated. The optimal reaction condition was obtained: flux of carbon monoxide:20ml/min; ratio of reactant:O2:CO:DME=1:2:2; reaction temperature:373K; catalyst quantity:8.0g; reaction time:3h. The possible reaction mechanism was presented. |
