The defulfurization technology of organic sulfur in coal by using C3H7OH has been researched. The effect of treating conditions, including the concentration of coal slurry, the size of coal granule, extraction time and the temperature, on the desulfurization ratio(DFR) was studied by single factor method for the original coal(OC), the coal removed ash by HF(FC), the coal removed ash by HCl(CC), and the coal removed ash by HF+HCl (HCC). The optimum operating conditions for coal desulfurization have been obtained as fallows. For OC, the coal granule size is 0.135mm, the concentration of coal plasm is16, extraction time is 90min, and extraction temperature is 30℃. The DFR of organic sulfur can come up to 42.82%~60.70%.For FC the optimum operating conditions is that the coal granule size is 0.135mm, the concentration of coal plasm is16, extraction time is 90min, and extraction temperature is 120℃. The DFR of organic sulfur can come up to 22.90%~52.16%. While the coal granule size is 0.135mm, the concentration of coal plasm is16, extraction time is 90min, and extraction temperature is 30℃,the DFR of organic sulfur can come up to 23.67%~54.33% for CC. As the coal granule size is 0.135mm, the concentration of coal plasm is10, extraction time is 90min, and extraction temperature is 30℃, the DFR of organic sulfur can come up to 21.8%~59.86% for HCC.The results are shown that the smaller coal granule size is, the larger DFR of organic sulfur in coal is. The DFR of organic sulfur will increase as the concentration of coal plasm added for FC, whereas increase in forepart and decrease offside for OC, CC and FCC. As effect time increases, the DFR of organic sulfur increases in forepart , and then decreases or doesn't vary. While the extraction temperature is added, the DFR of organic sulfur decreases in the forepart, and then that increases for OC and CC. With the increase of temperature, the DFR of organic sulfur for FC increases slightly, but that for FCC decreases.The relationship between pore structure of coal and the removal ash condition has been research by ASAP2010 instrument. The results are shown that the surface area and the pore volume of coal increase after ash is removed. The surface area of OC is 106.542m2/g, that of CC is 240.647m2/g, and that of FCC is 229.008m2/g. The pore volume of OC is156.31×10-1cm3/g, and that of FCC is 272.86×10-1cm3/g.
