Taking The Sector VIII of Tao Yuan coal mine as the research object, the location relationship between the chief excavating coal seam M10 and the downthrown water-bearing limestone strata was studied. We also studied the proper width of F2 fault waterproof pillar compared with seepage and non-seepage conditions. The main contents of this thesis are as following:â‘  The geological conditions of Tao Yuan coal mine such as the characteristics of strata and quifers of the mine, the mechanical, physical and hydrous properties of the F2 fault were discussed, so the parameters of analysis of rational width for F2 fault waterproof pillar can be offered.â‘¡ By studying the data of bore holes it is resulted that M10 and downthrown water-bearing limestone strata are linked.â‘¢ By using the 3-dimension finite difference code method, the distribution of the stress and breakage of the surrounding rocks under the condition of 10m or 20m widths of F2 fault waterproof considering infiltration within the rock system. compared with the above result, It is confirmed that 20m width of F2 fault waterproof is safety.â‘£ By comparing the distributions of the stress and breakage of the surrounding rocks taking 20m F2 fault waterproof width considering either seepage or non-seepage, it is proved that the model considering seepage is more reasonable.
