The low carbon martensitic stainless steel containing a suitable amount of copper may be of antibacterial ability after a special antibacterial treatment. The distribution and appearance of the precipitates and corrosion resistance of copper containing stainless steel after a antibacterial treatment and antibacterial property are studied by XRD,SEM and Potentiostat. The hardness and tensile strength are examined by HRC hardness test machine and universal experiment machine. The results show that hardness and antibacterial ability of stainless steel are increased with the increase of the amount of copper. The decrease of the jcp and Ecp makes passivation of stainless steel easily. When the containing of copper achieve one percent, not only the rate of antibacterial can achieve one hundred ,but the property of corrosion resistance and mechanics property is better than 1Cr13 stainless steel .Therefore the one percent is determined as the optimal copper containing.
