In this paper, the development and application of monitor system for the production process in oilfield are deeply researched . With the development of computer technology, communication technology, network technology and automation technology, artificial control and conventional instrument control in oilfield was difficult to meet the production requirements, and instead of that, intelligent instrumentation, monitor system and upper management software made oilfield system entering the new digitization stage. How to design and develop the software system and hardware system of the RT intelligent instrumentation; how to selection instrumentation and equipment reasonably; how to design monitor system safely, reliably and easily to maintenance; how to enhance production management level to ensure stable operation in production and control optimally; how to realize safety production and energy saving are important issues in the oil and gas production in the moment.The main target of monitor in oilfield is automation system above the earth's surface, such as wellhead operations, gathering and transport of oil and gas, and water injection system, and so on. The production process had certain characteristics and complexity. In performance, the monitor and control of parameters in the production will be difficult as diversity in components and yield of crude oil. Meanwhile, it was hoped that monitor and control equipment and instrumentation have the security explosion, adaptation to the harsh environment, and high reliability requirements, accordingly, asked general precision. Monitor system in oilfield designed in the paper, according to technological process and controlling the production process of crude oil, was a Distributed Control System (DCS). It adopted IPC as the upper management of the mainframe and PLC as data acquisition and control module in monitor system, and select sensor and transmitter according to reality to constitute a small two level DCS to achieve "dangerous decentralized and control centralized". The system has good expandability and network communications functions, so can hence exchange information with other system. Thus, it will lay the foundation for the expansion of larger-scale computer monitor system in the future.
