Al—Si casting alloys are used extensively in many industrial applications and Hi-Tech areas because of their excellent casting characteristics, for example, aviation, spaceflight and auto-manufacture. However, the alloy containing more than 6% Si, the coarse silicon phase morphology adversely affect the mechanical properties of these alloys. The most common treatment is that of modification. In this paper, the Al-Ce-P composite alloy was used to modify ZL102 alloy. The modification effects, lasting modification effects and remelting modification of Al-Ce-P composite alloy were also studied in this paper.First, Al-Ce-P composite alloy was prepared by the mix-melting method in this paper. Al-Ce-P composite alloy is a new modifier to Al-Si alloy, and Ce, P are major alloy elements. In addition, Preparing methods and the process technology of the best parameter of Al-Ce-P composite alloys in the paper were showed. Some analyse measures were used to examine the phases and microstructure of Al-Ce-P composite alloys. The examine results indicate that Al4Ce and A1P created during the preparation of Al-Ce-P composite alloy.Al-Ce-P composite alloy was used to modify ZL102 alloy, the experimental results indicate that the actual parameter of the experiment has obvious influence to the modification effect. Al-Ce-P composite alloy has a good modification effect to ZL102 alloy. Al-Ce-P composite alloy can change the morphology eutectic Si and primary Si from their original coarse platelet structures to less harmful firer fibrous structures. In addition, the remelting modification, the lasting modification effects were researched, its efficient time is four hours and it can be remelted four times. At the same time, modifying and refining technologies with Al-Ce-P composite alloy never pollute the environment. Therefore, Al-Ce-P composite alloy may be considered as a new and green modifier with good property, it has a good applicable foreground.
