Testing quality of milk has play a key role in human's health and products of milk to enter international market, which is an urget problem to solve. Somatic cell counting not only can test the quality of milk, but also can detect mastitis on dairy farm. Researching and developing somatic cell counter is conducted later in China than in other countries. There are several kinds of somatic cell counters in foreign countries, but these instruments all have some disadvantages. Though direct microscope somatic cell counting (DMSCC) is the standard testing method, there is no instrument based on DMSCC in China. So it is necessary to research and develop the counting instrument based on DMSCC.There are five steps in the process of operating DMSCC. The five steps are saMPaling, drying, dyeing, rinsing and testing. The accuracy of testing is determined by the accuracy of dyeing. Before testing the milk saMPaling need dye. So the design of dyeing system is the key in the whole program of researching and developing somatic cell counter based on DMSCC.In this dissertation there are four parts, which are the choosing of dyeing methods, the design of mechanical structure, the design of controlling system, the anylise of dyeing results.In the process of designing dyeing system, this dissertation puts forward four kinds of dyeing methods, which are minim puMPa method, peristaltic puMPa method, gear puMPa method and printing method. This dissertation decided peristaltic puMPa method for the final way. The dyeing system is drove by hybrid stepping motor, which uses the atmospheric pressure to transport the dyeing liquid. The dyeing system uses the strap to take all around pressure to the tube, which eliminates the eccentricityforce in other system before. The dyeing system can work clockwise and anticlockwise, and its tube is easily washed.The initiation of the system and the movement journey of the every part are controlled by two photoelectric switches. This dissertation selects a hybrid stepping motor as dyeing motor. The stepping motor driver circuit consists of a driving chip L298.There are four factors which can influence the dyeing results, which are the press, the dyeing sprayer, dyeing time, and the dyeing liquld. The dyeing sprayer has a key role in the quality of dyeing.. In this dissertation four different dying tips are taken experiments and at last an evaluating method is established.Besides milk peristaltic dyeing, this system can be used in other areas, such as transportation of traditional Chinese medicine liquid and some food.
