The quality of water in pharmaceutical industry, especially the water which is produced to the drug, such as purified water for injection, will influence the quality of the drug. Process water technology is an important part and necessary technology sustentation in pharmaceutical industry. It must reach the quality target of pharmacopoeia,like other materials in the drug producing.The quality control of water is the key in the drug producing quality control.Only when the water system is designed reasonably,constructed properly,validated, in efficient supervise and control,it will produce pharmaceutical water steadily which meets quality demand. Then it will meet the special demand of the drug producing.The technology of purified water process based on RO (reverse,osmosis) was developed with the development of technology of membrane process on 1960s. So the technology of RO is well applied on purified water process currently. Water can easily go through the membrane of RO. The manipulation process of RO is very easy, and can remove the salt thoroughly.Based on regulation of GMP and Chinese Pharmacopoeia, the differences between the two representative process systems based on RO were discussed. RO is a entire and every process is integrated. If the former process does not work well, the later process will work abnormally; even, the output water quality will be changed.On the basis of the study on the different effects of the technology of RO in the purified water process, we may design the different combinations on RO, eg, series connection, parallel connection, The will clearly improve the output water quality of the entire equipment.
