The researches on of metal sulfanilamide complexes have received much attention due to the fact that sulfanilamide were the effective chemotherapeutic agents to be employed for the prevention and cure of bacterial infections in humans. Although sulfamides present bacteriostatic activity related to the inhibition of the bacterial enzyme DHPS which catalysizes the incorporation of p-aminobenzoic acid into the precursor of folic acid, the pharmacological activity of these types of molecules is often enhanced by complexation with metal ions. Thus, rapid healing of skin disorders has been promoted by siver-sulfadiazine complex in human topical burn therapy, and zinc-sulfadiazine complex in the prevention of bacterial infection in burned animals, in which the effectiveness of burn treatment seems to depend not only on the presence of a metal ion[slow release of the Ag(I) or Zn(II) ], but also crucially on the nature of the material to which the metal ion is bound.In this dissert, five crystal structures have been obtained by hydrothermal synthesis of sulfanilamide with metal ions.In addition, oabietic acid derivatives, which is from colophony has received much attention in hygiene, foodstuff and chiral research.Dehydroabietic acid is obtained by purification abietic acid.In this paper, two chiral complexes with dehydroabietic acid have been obtained by hydrothermal synthesis of dehydroabietic acid with metal ions.Chapter One: The one-dimensional coordination polymers C22H21CoN7O7S (1) is obtained by the reaction of sulfadimethoxine, Co(NO3)2·6H2O and 4,4'-bpy under the hydro(solv) thermal condition. It belongs to monoclinic crystal system, space group P 2(1)/n, with cell parameters: a = 12.4040(16) A, b = 15.752(2) A, c = 12.9329(17) A,β= 102.828(2)°, V = 2463.8(6) A3, Z = 4, Dc = 1.581 Mg/m3. In complex 1, the geometry around the Co(Ⅱ)ion can be described as a disorder octahedron geometry. Two 4,4'-bpy N and two sulfadimethoxine N atoms and two nitrate O located in the Co(Ⅱ). Metal ions is bridged by 4,4'-bpy to generate one-dimensional coordination polymer. Two-dimensional networks are formed through complicated hydrogen bonds.The complex C25H30N8O9S2Zn (2) is obtained by the reaction of sulfadimethoxine, Zn(Ac)2·2H2O and 4,4'-bpy under the hydro(solv) thermal condition.
